ABOUT US
Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (UFAAS) is a country chapter of the African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) in Uganda. It is a forum that brings together a wide range of actors involved in Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) in Uganda which include the Public sector, Academia, Private sector, Civil Society, Farmer Organizations, Donor Community and Media. UFAAS was launched in May 2011 and is registered in Uganda. AFAAS is the umbrella network organisation for AEAS in Africa. It operates within the framework of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), with a focus to Pillar IV.

OBJECTIVES
I. To establish and sustain an effective platform for Agricultural Extension and AdvisoryServices(AEAS) in Uganda
II. To promote professional development, information sharing and networking among AEAS actors.
III. To build capacity of AEAS systems to provide innovative and client-orientated services.IV. To promote professionalism and ethical conduct in AEAS systems in Uganda.
V. To advocate and lobby for an enabling environment for AEAS in Uganda

UFAAS has partnered with many key stakeholders to conduct the following projects.

AIRTEA Project
The Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (UFAAS), in partnership with the Africa Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) and AgConnectors, is implementing the Digital Connectors for Farming Communities (DC4FC). The DC4FC is one of the 11 sub-projects under the Strengthening Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Ecosystem for Inclusive Rural Transformation and Livelihoods in Eastern Africa (AIRTEA) Project.

GP-SAEP
UFAAS, supported by GFRAS and AFAAS, is implementing an Agroecology project in Uganda. The project called ‘Global Programme for Small-scale Agroecology Producers and Sustainable Food Systems Transformation (GP-SAEP)’ is part of the larger funding envelope provided by the European Commission (EC), being implemented between the first quarter of 2023 and end in June 2026.

CAADP-XP4
The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) ex-Pillar IV Africa Regional and Sub-regional Organizations for Agricultural Research and Innovation project (CAADP XP4), is funded by the European Union (EU) under the Development Smart Innovation through Research in Agriculture (DeSIRA) initiative and administered by IFAD.
