The 1st Uganda National Agricultural Extension Symposium was successfully held at Hotel Africana, Kampala – Uganda. The symposium was held from 13 – 15 March 2018 under the theme “Enhancing Capacity and Quality Promoting Gender Responsive, Nutrition Sensitive and Professional AEAS in Uganda”.
The meeting was opened by the Representative of the Minster of Agriculture – Mr. Opolot Okasaai (Director Crop Resources). The Chief of Party for the Enabling Environment for Agriculture Feed the Future, Mr. Milton Ogeda gave a keynote address.
A mix of presentations, panel discussions, talk shows, shift and share sessions were used to discuss the issues within the theme. This culminated into a communique which will be shared widely once its finalized.
The symposium was attended and supported by partners: USAID, AFAAS, Ministries of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries, SG2000, Food Rights Alliance, GFRAS, DLEC, Academia, Farmer Organizations, among others.
