Mr. Stephen Justin Ecaat is an Agricultural and Development Expert, currently working as a Country Program Lead at Farm Radio International. He holds a Master’s in International Agricultural Development (Tokyo) and BSc. Agric (MUK). He has 20 years of Agricultural research, rural development, radio innovations, agricultural technology development and dissemination, project management, planning and implementation gained from working with International NGOs and National research institutes in Uganda. This relates closely with his work experience in the development of agronomic and livelihood improvement technologies that he gained from working with Promotion of Rice Development (PRiDe) – JICA-NARO funded Project in Uganda and International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).

He has Special interest in research, program development and implementation, digital innovations focusing on promotion of different value chains for sustainable use by different end users but more specifically small scale farmers and other members in the rural areas. He has also vested interests in climate change adaptation and mitigation measures. His expertise is focused on result based management approach, smallholder farmer livelihood improvement and development including sharing feedback.

Stephen has been a member of UFAAS since 2013.
