Profiles of the UFAAS Board Members (2019-2021)
Henry Nsereko, Chairperson
Mr Nsereko is the Chairperson of the Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (UFAAS). He leads the Strategic direction of the Forum with support from the Board and Secretariat.
Adeline Rwashana Muheebwa, Vice Chairperson
Ms Adeline Rwashana Muheebwa is a Gender and Development Consultant. She is innovative, results oriented and a strategic practitioner with a Master of Science and Post Graduate Diploma in Development Management, Milton Keynes Open University, UK. Adeline has a Bachelor of Science, Agriculture Economics (Hons), Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda and is a bronze medal winner for the First ever “Create and Cook with Tooke Flour” competition.

Elizabeth Asiimwe, Deputy Secretary General
Elizabeth is an agricultural extension professional with close to 10 years of experience working in a range of agricultural fields. Currently, she works at Makerere University’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences as the administrator for the Gender-responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (GREAT) project. In addition, she is a part-time Assistant lecturer in the Institute of Open, Distance and e-Learning under the College of Education and External Studies where she teaches in-service secondary school teachers of agriculture taking the Bachelor of Education (External) programme.
Beatrice Namusoke Luzobe, Chief Executive Officer (Ex-Officio)
Beatrice N. Luzobe is an agriculture, Management and gender specialist and consultant. She is also a rabbitry reference point for rabbitry in Uganda. She is a professional with a first degree in Agriculture (Animal Science) a Masters in Management, Post graduate Diploma in Business and Certificate in Gender. In her professional development journey, she also holds several certificates in Project Management, Planning, monitoring and Evaluation, Leadership for change, Integrated Community development, Participatory tools, Entrepreneurship, organizational Capacity Assessment, innovation platforms management, and more.

Dr Kawooya is the representative for the Public Sector (Local Government) at the UFAAS Board. Currently, he works with Sembabule District Local Government as the District Production and Marketing officer (DPMO). Dr Kawooya holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Makerere University, a Master of Science degree in Livestock Development Economics from the same University and a Post-Graduate Diploma from Kampala University. John Ssenyonga, Civil Society
John Ssenyonga is development economist with background in development economics, agribusiness, and project management. He holds a Master of Science in Agribusiness Management from Makerere University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Economics) from Makerere University. He’s currently pursuing a master’s in management from Uganda Management Institute. He has 12 years experience in agribusiness and rural development with expertise in economic analysis, program management and business development. He’s a Senior Program Manager at Heifer International Uganda leading the program design and implementation for the country office. John has managed market development programs in Uganda in the field of horticulture, dairy, oil seeds, and aquaculture supporting the adoption more robust systemic, market-based approaches in development to ensure greater impact at scale, with a strong focus on biodiversity conservation and renewable energy. He has worked at operational and strategic level positions with International organizations particularly Heifer International, Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation and Child-Fund International. Ambrose Owoesigire, Private Sector
Mr Ambrose holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture and Rural Innovations, he is a Board Member of UFAAS representing Private sector. Currently, Ambrose works as a Business Coach with Agribusiness impact initiative Associates, Bishop Stuart University Agribusiness Incubation Hub, and as an Agribusiness Associate Consultant with Excel Hort Consult Agribusiness Incubator. Ambrose has extensive knowledge and expertise in agribusiness incubation and business development for agribusiness value chains. He has managed and implemented a number of agribusiness development projects with different international development organisations under Excel Hort Consult Agribusiness Incubator Ltd, Afri Banana Products Ltd and Delight Uganda Ltd with specific focus on smallholder farmers, youth and women. Boby Ogwang, Youth
Mr Boby holds a Diploma in Crop Production and Management from Bukalasa Agricultural College and a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture, majoring in rural innovations and knowledge extension from Makerere University, Kampala– Uganda. He is the Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Marula Creative Consultancy and also Co-Founder/President/COO of Marula Agribusiness Ltd. Boby has strong grounding in business and program administration and management and experience in working on international projects and multi-stakeholder collaborations. He is currently interested in developing sustainable and profitable social business models, with a keen focus on integrating rural youth into the agricultural value chains. As the youth representative on the UFAAS board, Boby is engaging youth both in the rural areas and institutions of learning to take up innovative agricultural initiatives as well as encouraging them to join the forum to network with key players in the agricultural innovation and extension field. Grace Musimami, Media
Mr. Grace Musimami is the director and chief editor of Farmers. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management from Makerere University, Diploma in Journalism – UMCAT, Masters of sciences in Journalism – Nkumba university, Mr Musimami has also undertaken various short courses to strengthen and improve his career both national and continentally. The latter is the 2014 African Union Awardee for best Agriculture Journalist – CAADP PP – Durban South Africa. Grace is a Communication and Media Partner with the Department of Rural Economy at the African Union Commission and has formally conducted a number of consultancies with COMESA and its sister agency ACTESA. Having a science background, and having a 17-year science and Agriculture reporting experience, Grace has gained vast knowledge in understanding both rural and urban communication dynamics. He has filmed farmers and farmer experiences throughout Africa and further interviewed key policymakers to increase the linkage and reduce the gap between the two. Mr. Musimami being a team leader is the President of the Agricultural Journalists Association of Uganda (AJAU). He is also the Secretary-General for the Network for Agricultural Journalists in Eastern and Southern Africa, a board member at Uganda National Farmers Federation and Executive Secretary at the Alliance for Farmer Development Uganda (AFAD). He has vast experience in agriculture communication and documentation which makes him an appropriate team leader in implementing farmer related activities. Perez Kawumi, Farmers Organization
Mr Perez is a talented extensionist and farmers’ trainer with over 25 years of working experience in the field of agricultural extension. He has worked as the training and agricultural advisory services director at UNFFE since 2015 where he has successfully implemented a number of projects such as; the anti-counterfeit agricultural inputs campaign project, the Market led User owned ICT4 Agric. Information Services (MUIIS) project where more than 250,000 farmers were successfully profiled in a bid to digitalize the agricultural extension and farmers; the commercial integrated farming initiative” and the “Collective empowerment of women Cooperatives in Lakes state – South Sudan where more than 3600 women were helped to form and register as cooperative groups. Perez holds a MS in Management, concentrating on project management obtained from Walden University, USA, a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, and a National Diploma in Agriculture from Bukalasa Agricultural College.
