Beatrice Namusoke Luzobe
Chief Executive Officer (Ex-Officio)
Beatrice N. Luzobe is an agriculture, Management and gender specialist and consultant. She is also a rabbitry reference point for rabbitry in Uganda. She is a professional with a first degree in Agriculture (Animal Science) a Masters in Management, Post graduate Diploma in Business and Certificate in Gender. In her professional development journey, she also holds several certificates in Project Management, Planning, monitoring and Evaluation, Leadership for change, Integrated Community development, Participatory tools, Entrepreneurship, organizational Capacity Assessment, innovation platforms management, and more.
She has been a practitioner in various fields including: Agricultural Extension/ Rural Advisory Services; Programme Management and coordination; Mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues of gender, nutrition, environmental conservation within agriculture; Farmers Institutions Development; Enterprise Development and Entrepreneurship; and Partnership development. She has a good understanding of the emerging paradigms and reforms in Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) under the CAADP agenda. She is good at documentation with appropriate computer skills. She is transparent, accountable, faithful, committed, self-motivated, capable and used to working for long hours, under minimum supervision, in the office, field and outside the country.
Since graduation, Beatrice has worked with various national and international organizations both at technical and management positions These include Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services-UFAAS (UFAAS), where she is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer/ Focal Person. While in UFAAS she also stood in as the Project Coordinator for the Project on Integrating Gender and Nutrition within Agricultural extension Services (INGENAES). She is also the Managing Director/ consultant for Learn Enterprises Limited. Before she had worked with: Sasakawa Global 2000 Agricultural Project (2002 – October 2010) as Program Specialist -Farmers Institutions Capacity Building and Gender and a Program Coordinator –Public-Private Partnerships and Market Access; Winrock International Institute For Agricultural Development (1995 – 2001) as a Country Co-ordinator and Gender / Field Operations Specialist; Compassion International as a Project Coordinator for a Nutrition programme and; African Rural Outreach And Development (AROD) (1987 – 1989) as an Agricultural Extension staff, Good interpersonal skills like effective communication, leadership, team building.
She has participated in numerous assignments and/or consultancies, both as an individual or under the above organizations she has worked with. These have been mainly focused on: Coordination, Programming, Training, Development of the Strategic documents/ materials (like plans, proposals and manuals), facilitation and Rapporteuring, Gender Mainstreaming, Farmer Institutions Capacity Development and Translation of agricultural materials into Luganda (local language). These have been supported and/or funded by some of the key organizations, agencies and Government Ministries like: the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF in Uganda), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), International Fund For Agricultural Development (IFAD), European Union (EU), World Bank, Africa Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS), Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Programme (WFP) and Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA).
In addition, Beatrice is a practicing commercial and model farmer of rabbits and trees; a member of: the Association of Professional Women in Agriculture and Environment (AUPWAE); the Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (UFAAS); and Mukono Tree Farmers Association (MTFA).
